The key to winter – in my mind – is layering. Lots and lots [and lots!!] of layering.

While I was playing in Manhattan over the weekend, it was damn cold. I went from 65ºF and sunny in Dallas down to 31ºF, overcast, and windy in New York City in a matter of mere hours (aka a plane flight). Despite being [debatably] physically prepared, I was definitely emotionally unprepared for the chill.

Despite my emotional unpreparedness, I must say that the weather in Manhattan definitely put me in the Christmas spirit! It’s hard to feel like it’s time to walk around in a winter wonderland right now in Texas… especially since we’re just now starting to don our sub-50ºF apparel.

Being super-duper freezing cold has its perks, doesn’t it?

What are some of your layering winter-wear tricks?
