Isn’t is awesome when almost the exact same outfit can follow you seamlessly through the seasons?

Well, I dig it.

Over my weekend in LA, I enjoyed fabulous temperatures in the mid and high 70’s (that’s low to mid-20’s for you celsius folks!). Quite the glorious temperatures for January and February, I must admit. Fun fact: Saturday evening, temperatures dipped down to the mid to low-60’s… and I legitimately saw people in parkas.

Since the weather was so wonderful (despite what the parka-wearers evidently thought), I deemed it warm enough for me to shed my layers and pretend as if it were summer… even just for a brief moment. As I do not have infinity dollars (though I sometimes behave like I do… much to my bank account’s chagrin), I have to be wise about my purchases. [Almost] everything needs to be two-season appropriate… if not more. Warm sweaters that can carry me from fall to spring, colorful dresses to wear during the spring and summer months, and great jackets in which I can cuddle every time temperatures fall below 50ºF in Dallas (like my new fave). Yes, there are a few exceptions – such as my fun straw bag that is absolutely begging to be taken to a beach ASAP – but, by and large, two-season appropriate is the rule.

As a complete aside: my friend and I played “if I were to have infinity dollars, what would I buy/hire” on our way back from Malibu (where we shot the pictures above). Yes, it is always “infinity dollars”… just because I find that so fun to say for some odd reason. The first things I wanted? A butler and a walk-in closet bigger than my current apartment. My friend wanted a housekeeper and a yacht with a helipad.

Dream big, ladies. Dream big.

What are your favorite cross-seasonal outfit pieces?
