Clay Pit is my favorite restaurant in Austin. Hands down.
In the past eight years, I have celebrated seven birthdays (including four of my own), two graduations (both high school and college), and countless little victories and accomplishments at Clay Pit. Yes, I love it that much. My family knows that there is never any question that – when I come to town – I want Clay Pit. Every. Single. Time.
So what do I get?
My favorite dishes at Clay Pit definitely include – from the top down – naan (I love the Garlic & Basil Naan and the Aloo Naan), Saag Paneer, Seafood in Garlic & Red Wine, and the Malai Kabob (with lots of extra tikka masala sauce!).
Usually, at this point in a restaurant review post, I would gush about the various types of foods that I liked and pick a bit at the ones I didn’t like. Instead, I’m going to make this easy for y’all: I love everything at Clay Pit. From the samosas to the creme brulee – everything that Clay Pit serves is out-of-this-world delicious. Seriously. I’ve never had a bad meal there (and who even knows how many meals I’ve eaten there!).
Clay Pit is located in downtown Austin, up by the University of Texas’s campus. Lunch is served on weekdays from 11:00AM till 2:30PM and on weekends from noon till 3:ooPM, dinner is nightly from 5:00PM till 10:00PM (except for on Friday and Saturday nights, when dinner is served from 5:00PM till 11:00PM). Another awesome option to enjoy Clay Pit? Happy hour is weeknights, from 4:00PM till 7:00PM; deals include $1 off drinks and 1/2 off select appetizers! Woohoo!
Have you ever been to Clay Pit? What are your favorite dishes?
