What a fun little weekend!

Friday afternoon, a few friends and I checked into Hotel Zaza in Dallas. One of my best friends had received one free night in any one of the “Magnificent Seven” suites of her choosing. These suites are named magnificent for a reason – they’re like twice the size of my apartment and themed up the wazoo. One is DaVinci themed, one is eastern Asia themed, and one was inspired by Hitchcock’s The Birds. And that’s just three of them.

We chose to stay in the biggest suite of them all: The Last Czar. Russia-themed and filled with pictures of the Grand Duchess Anastasia and her family members (all of whose names are currently escaping me), the suite has 2 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, 3 king-sized beds, and a kitchen so lovely that my little baking heart never ever wanted to leave.

I was only planning on staying for Friday night… and then we got a phone call while at a very leisurely brunch at Forty Five Ten’s T Room (so delish!). My friend was planning on switching rooms for her second night at the hotel to one of Zaza’s [slightly more affordable] normal rooms, but then the hotel called and told her it would be just too much of a hassle to relocate her for the evening… so they were going to put her up in the super huge suite for a second night.

So I came back in a hurry. Obviously.

I even had a room to myself the second night! Exciting times, people.

It was such a fun weekend, filled with face masks and relaxation and pizza and human bumper balls (if that last one doesn’t make sense to you then you need to be following me on Snapchat – @akkushner).

Have you ever taken a staycation? Where do you like to stay in Dallas? Let me know in the comments!
