Happy New Year to all of my Jewish readers (and happy Monday to all of my non-Jewish readers)!
I’m spending today at services at B’nai Vail (yes, that’s a real thing) followed by a yummy yummy lunch with family and friends (who are basically family at this point) at Sweet Basil in Vail (one of my all-time faves… yum!). Also on today’s agenda are a mani/pedi with my mama and – get this – Pure Barre with my father. Yes, I’m finally dragging my dad to Pure Barre and I could not be more excited. It’s a great way to start off the New Year.
Last week, my parents told me about a new Netflix. And after watching the first episode on Thursday evening, I was totally hooked. No, seriously. I finished the entire first season in like 2 days. It was incredible. And more-than-slightly concerning.
The show is called Grace & Frankie and it is seriously the funniest. As any of my friends can tell you, I really don’t watch comedies. Ever. But I was totally hooked on this show and I found myself bursting at the seams with my deep, Santa-like belly laugh on more than one occasion.
Yes, I do really laugh like Santa. It’s super embarrassing. Especially on dates.
Grace & Frankie is about two women (named Grace and Frankie, in case you needed me to put that together for you). Grace, played by Jane Fonda, is uptight and neurotic while Frankie, played by Lily Tomlin, is mystical and spiritual. So pretty much polar opposites. Grace’s husband is law partners with Frankie’s husband. One night, the two husbands summon the wives to tell Grace and Frankie that they’re leaving them… for each other. In the funniest way possible.
So PSA: The Netflix Original, Grace & Frankie is damn funny and should absolutely be added to your queue STAT. Like seriously right now. Just go add it.
That is all. Go have a happy Monday/New Year!
