Sparkly New Year’s Eve frocks not your thing? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. I recently rented this structured party dress for a friend’s engagement party… but it would be the perfect thing to wear for New Year’s Eve (just add some baubles – like this!).
Plus, aren’t those Effie Trinkett-esque sleeves the best ever?
I love how this structured party dress brings a little bit of spring pastels into an otherwise gray winter, while the double-capped sleeves and intricate texture make it totally fair game for winter. That being said, I definitely recommend wearing tights with it if you live somewhere that is colder than Texas (aka under 65°F).
I have been sick as a little dog the past few days in Colorado. I blame my friend who breathed on me when we went to go see Star Wars on Friday (which was amaaaaaazing!!!!). I spent just about 92% of yesterday horizontal and watching Netflix (I finished Jessica Jones, finally caught up on Call the Midwife, and started watching Death Comes to Pemberley… very productive day). Thankfully, my dad went out and bought me all of the DayQuil and NyQuil, so hopefully I’ll be back to my usual, vertical self in no time!
If not, then maybe Santa will put me on the “pathetic list” (a list I’ve single-handedly decided without any basis in fact or myth should be a subgroup of the nice list) and visit me for the first time… ever. Here’s hoping that all of those years of leaving him cookies and even setting out carrots for his reindeer finally pay off!
