All Texan girls know that fabulous, big hair is something to aspire to. However, 9,000 pounds of hairspray and hours of teasing don’t really leave you with silky, healthy, soft hair. Quite the opposite in fact.
Combine those hours of teasing with years of color treating your hair, and you’re in for split ends till the cows come home.
And nobody wants that.
Lately, I’ve developed a new regimen to transform my disaster of a rat’s nest into voluminous, silky-soft hair. And, as I’ve found such success with said regimen, I thought I’d share it with all of y’all. Because who doesn’t want gloriously soft hair?
As I have light hair that is fairly thin (aka it turns to a grease-monster quite easily), I wash my hair every other day. I use this shampoo and conditioner – they are perfect for my light-haired brethren, particularly those who color their hair. Once a week, I use this mask in place of my conditioner to help heal the years of damage I’ve inflicted on my hair. Because I am not kind to my locks.
After getting out of the shower, while my hair is still wet, I brush through my hair with a wide-toothed comb and spritz a healthy serving of my favorite volumizer spray, followed by about a pearl size of leave-in conditioner and a dime of blow dry creme. I then towel-dry my hair until it is almost-dry and then I flip my hair upside-down (for extra volume) while giving it a quick zap with the T3 hairdryer. I fix my part using my NuMe straightener and then I tame the ends with either the straightener or one of the curling wands. I set the style with hairspray, create some extra volume by spraying my favorite texture spray all over my roots, brush through my ends with a wide-toothed comb, and then head out for my day with my happy, voluminous, silky-soft hair!
