I know this will drive my readers in the north insane but, as I was wearing this plaid blazer, I was roasting. In typical Texas fashion, the weather has been absolutely bonkers – especially as of late. One day it’s 40°F, the next it’s 75°F… this weekend, it’s supposed to get up to 80°F!
I can’t even.
Like… I can… and I will… and I’ll really really like it… but that doesn’t change the fact that I’m super confused by it.
What I’m Wearing:
Top: Brooks Brothers / Sweater: J.Crew / Blazer: J.Crew / Skirt: J.Crew, old (similar, similar)
Purse: Rebecca Minkoff (also available in mini!) / Shoes: similar, similar / Necklace: Kendra Scott, old
Earrings: Kate Spade, old (similar) / Bow Ring: Kate Spade, old (similar) / Signet Ring: BaubleBar
Perfect solution to crazy weather? Velvet loafers. They’re winter-appropriate (just don’t get them wet!). Mine are unfortunately sold out as they are the last remnants of my old favorite line, C.Wonder. Speaking of which, did you hear that they’re restarting the line? So excited!
Back to the shoes. So… even though the fabulous flats shown in the pictures above are long gone from stores, I found some similarly glorious velvet loafers by scouring the internet. In addition to the two pairs listed above and at the bottom of this post in my Shop The Post scroller, I absolutely adore these, these fab reddies, these mermaid stunnas, these teal loafers, these sparkly ones, and these boozy lil numbers.
And now to return to actual life. Lately, I’ve been reading Morning Star by Pierce Brown – the third and final installment of the Red Rising trilogy. OHMYGOODNESS this book is so good. If you haven’t read this series yet, I highly highly recommend it. It’s fairly long (544 pages), but such a quick and engrossing read: I started it on Sunday and I’ll likely be done by the time I head off to work on Monday morning. Even if it requires me staying up all night. Because that’s a great idea.
Hope y’all have a happy hump day!
