Plaid Coat

What I’m Wearing:

Coat: J.O.A. (via Rent the Runway) / Top: Brooks Brothers / Skirt: J.Crew (on sale!)
Purse: Charles Jourdan, old (similar, similar) / Boots: Tory Burch / Necklace: J.Crew, old (similar)
Earrings: The Pearl Monkey, c/o / Bow Ring: Kate Spade, old (similar) / Signet Ring: BaubleBar

Surprise! Glitter & Spice got a facelift over the weekend. I feel like Beyoncé, when she dropped her album seemingly out of the blue, without any forewarning.

I’m similarly bootylicious (ish), so the comparison totally fits.

After weeks of thinking about it, I finally decided on Friday around 4:30PM to pull the trigger and redo the blog. I stayed up almost all night redesigning the logo (and custom “pin it!” buttons – just roll your mouse over a picture to see that!) and recoding the site. I finished around 3:30AM and promptly passed out.

And my parents say that I’ve completely forgotten my undergraduate engineering degree. Pshh.

Okay, enough about the site. Let’s talk about this plaid coat.

A lot of people don’t know that you can rent everyday wear on Rent the Runway… but you can! Though I usually use the service for gowns to wear to operas (last seen here) or for fun lil frocks to wear to my friends’ weddings (like in this post), I really enjoy using it to supplement my workwear and weekend-wear too! My best life decision of the past two years was definitely signing up for Rent the Runway Unlimited – it’s an endless cycle of awesome clothes, giving me a great opportunity to wear things I probably wouldn’t have purchased otherwise… like this plaid coat. It’s perfectly preppy and totally classic… and crazy warm. Which definitely came in handy when Dallas decided to get randomly super cold a few days last week.

I dig, y’all. I dig.
