In case you haven’t noticed, the theme for the past two weeks has been “things I want to wear to look oddly chic at a picnic”… and this scalloped blouse is no exception. I scored this top during a recent jaunt to J.Crew. Scallops? Check. Button down? Check. More scallops? SOLD!
I’m seriously the easiest sale of all time. I guess that explains my bank account.
What I’m Wearing:
Top: J.Crew / Skirt: Club Monaco, old (similar) / Hat: Tuckernuck / Shoes: Cole Haan / Purse: J.Crew
Necklace: J.Crew Factory / Earrings: gift (similar) / Bow Ring: Kate Spade, old (similar) / Signet Ring: BaubleBar
I spent most of yesterday outside, doing a MasterChef-esque margarita, salsa, and guacamole making contest at a conference. Which is definitely a sentence I never thought I’d utter. My team made a fruit salsa (used mangos, a banana, and blackberries), a spicy guacamole, anddddd we brought back my favorite blood orange margaritas for the competition. For totally obvious reasons, we were definitely the judges’ favorites.
Tonight, I’m heading back to Dallas to start the birthday celebrations. I’m turning the ripe old age of 26 this weekend (going on 87) and – to be honest – for the first time in my life, I have no interest in actually celebrating my birthday. Maybe it’s because the only thing to look forward to this year is finally having to pay my own health insurance (yay?), but I’m really looking forward to having a low-key weekend with my parents and doing mini celebrations over lil dinners with friends over the course of the week. Is that really weird? I’m normally the biggest advocate of having massive birthday celebrations, but I just can’t get into it this year. Please tell me I’m not the only one.
