Oh hay there, friends! Today, I’ve teamed up with my sweet friend Kate of The Everyday Hostess (definitely check out her blog!!) to bring y’all this awesome Memorial Day Party setup.
For our Memorial Day Party theme, we decided to go traditional: red, white, and blue all the way.
Oh, and some gold glitter… obviously.

I love Memorial Day. To me, Memorial Day means celebrating those who have fought for this country that we love, those who ensured our freedoms and made it so that we can take those freedoms for granted.
Kate and I chose the red, white, and blue color scheme to be our Memorial Day Party theme because we wanted to honor those who have fought for this country. We wanted to bring to mind the idea of the American flag with this party theme… and we tied in the gold glitter because a) gold glitter makes everything better and b) glitter always reminds me of fireworks… which are my absolute favorite thing in the whole wide world. Seriously, I turn into an overexcited and overstimulated small child every single time I see them. And sometimes I even cry. It’s kinda embarrassing actually.
For the event, we set out some watermelon (because what’s more festive than watermelon?), Kate made some fun little pink strawberry mojito cocktails which will be on her blog mañana, and I made a lemon, blueberry, and raspberry Red, White, and Blue Cake. I know – that has a lot going on, but it was so crazy good.
In fact, stop back here tomorrow for the recipe for that delicious Red, White, and Blue Cake! It’s easy to make and SO yum.
Oh and yes, that is most definitely vanilla buttercream frosting on the cake. Get excited.
How do you plan on celebrating Memorial Day?
