Colorful Cold-Shoulder Top

Colorful Cold-Shoulder Top

Well hello there, new favorite summer look!

With temperatures already reaching a real-feel of over 100°F, this summer is set to be a scorcher. So really the only options for what to wear without roasting to death are (1) a bikini or (2) a breezy, silk tank.

Seeing as most restaurants still maintain a “no shirt, no shoes, no service” policy (I don’t know whyyy), pretty sure that leaves option b as the only actual choice. Enter this cold-shoulder top.

Every year, the Texas summer heat takes me by surprise. I’ve lived in Texas since I was three years old (I was raised in Austin), yet the first day over 95°F always makes me feel like I’m about to die of a heat stroke.

If you missed my big news on Friday, you might not know that I am no longer gainfully employed. Friday was my last day at my full-time job as I am going off to grad school to get my MBA at the SMU Cox School of Business this fall (!!!). Y’all. I am so stinking excited.

As a part of the end-of-employment/start-of-funemployment celebrations, a few of my coworkers and I went for a late, boozy lunch Friday afternoon at La Ventana near downtown. Despite the refreshing margaritas, DEAR LORD IT WAS HOT. In the shade, it was still well over 95°F.

And that, my friends, is why I’m fleeing the state of Texas this summer. First destination? San Francisco! But more on that tomorrow…
