Blue Asymmetrical Top

Blue Asymmetrical Top

This blue asymmetrical top might be one of the most fun and strangely flattering things I’ve ever worn. To say I’m into it and wore it a few times on my trip would be the understatement(s) of the century. I wore this top constantly. In San Francisco to go out. In Yosemite to grab pizza. In Napa to dinner. In the Hamptons to dinner and to my day in Montauk.

Seriously, y’all: I’m into it.

This top was perfect for going out (fun for dancing!) while also being roomy enough for a ginormous dinner (which I did just about every day… because #vacation). Plus it doesn’t hurt that, despite the Dallas heat, I don’t roast in this top. A+, sir top.

While it goes without saying that my favorite thing about Dallas is not the heat, you might be surprised that it isn’t the food either (though the big D sports some great restaurants!). My favorite thing about Dallas is the community. I moved to Dallas, almost three years ago, only knowing a handful of people (all of whom were either friends from high school or family friends).

Since that time, I’ve created a life for myself in Dallas. I’ve moved around and found my place and figured out the life I want to lead at this point in time. I’ve established close friendships with people I’ve met through the great blogging community in Dallas and through groups like Circle Seven Five. I’ve gone on some of the worst dates ever, but, hey, it’s all a work in progress.

Being a member of the Dallas community, I was saddened beyond belief by the atrocities that occurred last week (and the continued craziness throughout the weekend). I have friends who were scared to leave their homes over the weekend because of the violence and continued threats to the Dallas community. Nothing is worse than feeling unsafe in your own home. And Dallas, you are my home (adoptive though you may be).

Throughout the weekend, despite the terror and tragedy, Dallas came together as a community… proving that love will always win. I am so thankful to all the family, friends, fellow bloggers, and even readers who reached out to me to make sure I was okay. I am proud to be a part of the Dallas community and I know that I – along with the rest of Dallas – appreciate your wishes and prayers.

And since everybody needs some laughter in their days (especially now), I will now conclude this post by reminding you of this gem of a video… which is seriously my life right now because it’s basically 100°F in Dallas from now until… well, forever.
