It’s so weird to be in business casual. I’ve actually never had to wear business casual for a job – every job I’ve ever had was casual casual… so it’s super weird to be stocking up on blazers and non-denim pants for the first time in my life. Every new addition to my closet has to be able to be worn as a part of a business casual outfit or it is not going home with me (sad times, off-the-shoulder tops!).
As soon as I spotted this silk cape blouse, I knew it would be perfect for both school and for play. I actually wore it twice in a week: once as a part of a business casual outfit, with this skirt and my favorite nude heels… and then once for some casual brunchin’ with my friends (as seen above and below!).
What I’m Wearing:
Top: Amanda Uprichard (via Rent the Runway) / Pants: J.Crew / Purse: Henri Bendel
Shoes: Jack Rogers / Earrings: BaubleBar / Ring: BaubleBar / Sunglasses: A.J. Morgan
Over the weekend, I went to a few of my favorite restaurants with friends. We chowed at Hopdoddy (never miss the green chili con queso – trust me!), ate tacos from Torchy’s, and then grabbed salads from Crisp (it can’t all be horrifically unhealthy!). This weekend was sort of a last hoorah before I started the GM Diet on Sunday (ughhhh)… hence my food choices.
If you’re not familiar with the GM Diet, here’s what you need to know: it’s hell, but it’s also effective as hell. I did it last year right before I left for my trip to London and Paris – I lost over 5lbs in a week and my face looked thin in all of my photos (that’s really what matters with a diet, right?). I do it every few months to kickstart a lifestyle change (aka when I start working out and eating healthier aka not burgers and fries 100% of the time).
I like it because the results are fast, so I don’t get discouraged (I am very easily discouraged when it comes to diets!). Within two days, I start to feel different. Within 4 days, I can see the change in my face. By the end of the week, my clothes are looser, my skin looks better, and I just generally feel better. I’m excited to see how my body changes over the next week… and I’ll definitely keep y’all posted as to the success of the diet!
And now to go back to dreaming about tacos…
