Burgundy Mini Skirt to Wear this Fall to Work

While I normally shy away from wearing mini skirts to work, I love how professional this outfit is… Even though the skirt hits above the knee (but barely!).

I particularly love the color – this burgundy skirt is the perfect mini skirt to wear this fall.

Earrings: BaubleBar / Ring: BaubleBar / Sunglasses: A.J. Morgan / Nail Polish: Formula X, c/o

I wore this outfit (complete with the burgundy skirt and matching shoes) to school this past week.

As first-term first years in the MBA program, my class tends to dress pretty professionally. In second year, you break out the sweats and athleisure. Heck, in second term of first year, you break out the jeans. But for the time being, I’m put together every day.

While I have fairly long legs, I’m still on the shorter side (5’5″). Unless I’m wearing heels, knee-length (and longer) skirts tend to make me look stunted. As a result, I’m always on the hunt for a professional-looking mini skirt – and I was particularly looking for one to wear this fall. That’s how I found this skirt.

I love mini skirts that hit just above the knee because they’re so versatile. Depending on the length and cut, you can wear them straight from work to a date, or even to hang out with friends on the weekend. You can wear them with heels, flats, or boots (as seen here) – your legs won’t look cutoff or stunted. It’s the perfect fashion tip to use this fall!
