Bell-Sleeved Blue Dress

Bell-Sleeved Blue Dress

I’m baaaaaack! If you’re not subscribed to my weekly newsletters, you probably missed the memo that I took off last week to study for (and take) my final exams. And then almost immediately boarded a flight to Manhattan for a weekend of nonstop fun. Which is why this post which was supposed to go up on Monday at 5AM is instead going live on Tuesday at 12PM.

Oh, le struggle.

But it’s been a fun struggle. I spent the weekend at the apartment of one of my best friends in the whole wide world (she was actually my “big big” in my sorority in college!). Upon my arrival on Saturday afternoon, the bottles of bubbly immediately started flowing and – aside from a brief respite during which I baked cookies for my friend’s company bake-off – the funtivities didn’t end the whole trip.

When I visit Manhattan, it’s probably a little different from what happens when most other Texans visit New York City for fun… I am perfectly content spending the entire weekend cooped up in a teeny, tiny apartment with my closest friends. And yes, that has happened on a few trips up here. However, most of my trips up here tend to be a total whirlwind of humans.

As a few of y’all know, I went to Cornell University in Upstate New York for undergrad. As a result, the vast majority of my college friends live in Manhattan. Every time I visit, I cram my meals, coffees, and drinks chock-full of different friends so I can see everybody on my one trip up per year. My trips up to “the City” might not be relaxing, but it’s so fun getting to catch up with my friends after such a long time apart.

This trip, my friends and I grabbed dinner and fabulous cocktails at SoHo House (one of my friends is a member) – SO good. Another group of us went to Rosemary’s for brunch. And I def died a little at all of the gorgeous holiday decor inside. I saw my college roommates for coffee, and grabbed lunch at the Plaza Hotel with one of my sorority sisters. And walked all the way back to Chelsea so I could do my favorite thing in Manhattan this time of year: look at every single Christmas window along 5th Avenue.

With maybe a little shopping along the way.

PS speaking of shopping, BaubleBar is currently offering 30% off of everything with code “LOVE30”. This offer ends tonight though so act fast!! In a pinch as to what to buy? I’m obsessed with my new pink earrings and my new rings!
