I am constantly on the lookout for a good party dress. And finding one is much more difficult than one might expect. A proper party dress needs to fit properly in the bust without showing too much cleavage (I have a big bust so things can rapidly go from super cute to absolutely-terrifying-oh-my-god-your-boobs-are-about-to-invade-a-foreign-country). I like for mine to be fitted in the waist but loose through the hips.
Oh, and preferably / ideally, it has pockets.
This orange party dress hit all of those nails right on the head, y’all.

A few months ago, after one too many Netflix-filled Saturday nights, I decided to make an effort to have a social life. Something that y’all might not know about me is that I actually prefer being alone to being around humans. Don’t get me wrong: I love my friends and I am extremely outgoing and friendly, but I really have to force myself to go out and be sociable. A lot of the time, I find going to bars and such to be absolutely exhausting. Plus, I kind of hate loud noises. And when humans are annoying.
But back to my original point: I decided to put more of an effort into going out and being sociable (like a normal 26-almost-27-year-old would do). So I’ve been racking up all of the flirty and fun little dresses that I can. And the moment I spotted this orange party dress online I was like yep. So much yep.
Plus it has a cape… and capes make me feel like Superman… so if the night sucks, at least I feel like a friggin’ superhero.
I ended up wearing this dress for a girly night out last weekend, filled with dinner, dancing, and probably a few too many mambo taxis from Mi Cocina. And then proceeded to use that as an excuse to stay at home and binge-watch Grace and Frankie and Big Little Lies for the rest of the week. As one does.
