Y’all. This dress. Is there anything more perfect for summer fun than a white shift dress with gold details? I’m seriously such a fan.
Honestly, I’ve been a Lilly girl for years – their colors and shift dresses are basically what my little dreams are made of. Much to my mother’s chagrin (she’s a Vince lady… basically a younger version of Meryl Streep in Devil Wears Prada and a hair nicer… but just a hair), I’m as feminine and preppy as they come. My motto is the more bows the better. While my mom usually asks if something comes in black or gray, I would be a very happy camper with an entire closet of pink and yellow. And maybe some navy and white just to round things out.
Actually what am I talking about? That’s exactly the composition of my closet right now.
What I’m Wearing:
Dress: Lilly Pulitzer (also available via Rent the Runway) / Purse: LOFT (under $50!)
Shoes: Jack Rogers / Sunglasses: Ann Taylor / Earrings: BaubleBar / Rings: BaubleBar
So I actually wore this white shift dress with gold detailing for a long afternoon of day drinking with friends a few weekends ago (obviously this was pre-haircut). And I mean a long afternoon. We went from Lounge 31 (one of my favorite spots for patio drinks!) to the Truck Yard and then to Blue Goose Cantina for drinks and margaritas (their margaritas and their chips and queso are so good).
And then everybody went out out and I admitted defeat and went home to binge-watch Girlboss on Netflix.
BTW if y’all haven’t watched it yet, definitely do so ASAP. It’s super good. I binge-watched the entire first season on Sunday after doing a few too many tequila shots with my dad the night before in celebration of one of my oldest friends getting married.
What? Y’all don’t do family tequila shots? Weirdos.
Since my Sunday full of binge-watching, I’ve been working on a paper for school for my upcoming trip to Asia. Sure, I’ve had six months to do it and I only started researching it on Monday, but after just two days of research and one day of writing, I’m already 90% done with the paper so I’m not too concerned (sorry mom and dad!). The paper’s due on Friday, so I’ll be spending the majority of the weekend studying for my macroeconomics final on Monday and catching up with friends… and then I’m in the home stretch and on my trip to Asia!
Speaking of which, if you have any recommendations for things to do, restaurants, or bars in Seoul or Shanghai, please send them my way! I’m going with a bunch of classmates and none of us have been before!
