In case you didn’t know, I’m an avid reader. And I always have been. I’ve probably averaged around 2 books a month since I was like 7 years old. Doing the math, that’s 480 books in my lifetime.
And that’s my conservative estimate.
Sure, I’ll have the odd book that takes me an entire month (or two)… but then I’ll encounter a book like the one I’m reading right now. One that makes me stay up till 3AM reading, averaging 200 pages a night, because it is just that engrossing.
As it is summer and everybody is on the lookout for the next great beach read, I thought I’d share my current reading list – all of the fiction dramas to read this summer (including the one I’m reading right now!) in case one of them catches your eye!
One | Two | Three | Four | Five | Six | Seven | Eight | Nine
I’ve lately been on an early-twentieth-century-historical-fiction kick. All but three of my list of fiction dramas to read this summer take place in the early twentieth century (and one of those three is half in the early twentieth century, half in modern day).
I’ve actually read a bit or two of the books above. One, Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah, is my current read. I am completely obsessed with this book. In two days, I’ve already read 200 pages (and stayed up well past my bedtime to keep reading). The other, The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, is one I want to stick with because I’ve heard such great things about it, but I can’t get truly into it and I keep putting it down.
Le struggle, y’all.
Of the ones above, I’ve heard amazing things about A Gentleman in Moscow and The Swans of Fifth Avenue. I’m also really excited to read The Summer Before the War, The Girl With No Name, and Lilac Girls.
What books are on your summer reading list? I would love some more recommendations – let me know in the comments below!
