First I got sick with a killer cold. Then I had two ten-page papers due over the weekend. Which somehow made me even more sick. But now I’m back and sooooo ready to talk sparkles.
In particular, sparkly sequin dresses for NYE. Best part? There’s a giveaway at the very bottom of this post… for $1000 for you to spend as you wish this holiday season! Need more presents? You’re set. Need your very own sparkly dresses for NYE? You can buy my whole look from today and still have money left over!

What I’m Wearing:
Dress: ASOS (size up!) / Shoes: Marc Fisher / Clutch: Aldo, old (similar, similar, similar)
Earrings: BaubleBar / Rings: BaubleBar, similar / Nail Polish: Essie, c/o
In the interest of full disclosure, I will not be wearing any sparkly sequin dresses for NYE this year. In fact, when I sent my mom a photo of this dress, expecting her to be like “omg that’s so fun” (she doesn’t talk like that so idk why I thought she suddenly would), she responded, “where do you think you’re going dressed up like that?”
Apparently, we have exactly 0 plans this year for New Year’s Eve. So I won’t be donning any fierce and fabulous glittery frocks. Instead, there’s a chance I won’t even need to get dressed in real clothes (maybe I’ll wear these to be somewhat festive?). Which is kind of my ideal way to end/begin the year, TBH.
Typically, my family takes it pretty easy on New Year’s Eve. In years past, we have all gone to a party together… but that usually dissipated by 10:30/11 or so. The past few years, I’ve ended the year by doing some sort of movie marathon with my dad.
Goal for this year: finally convince him to watch Frozen with me. Now that is a way to end the year strong, in my opinion.
But, lest we stray too far from the point of this post, I’m assuming most of y’all have actual social lives. And therefore something to do on New Year’s Eve. So here are a few of my favorite fabulous sparkly sequin dresses for NYE:

New Year’s Eve Cocktail Dresses
New Year’s Eve Gowns / Formal Dresses
In the event that you’re a bit too nervous about doing all-over sequins, I also found a few dresses that will make you shine… without that disco ball effect. For a more understated look, I really like this purple satin dress – the neckline is the perfect amount of glitz!
I also loooove this navy number with the glittery bodice. It also comes in long… and, in other colors, in tall, petite, and maternity! Anddd it’s under $125! I also love this dress by the same brand for a more feminine feel!
Finally, as the least sparkly option, j’adore this gold dress. I actually bought it to wear in Paris, for a fun little surprise I have planned for my friend. It fits very true to size and is absolutely stunning in person!
