Happy Monday. I’ve been busy prepping for some fun things I have up my sleeves in the next few weeks. And celebrating the weekend. Obviously.
Today, we’re talking all about how to dress for spring in Texas. If this is your first spring in the lone star state, may the force be with you. Texas weather is notoriously erratic. In the past week, we’ve had a day of 50°F and rainy and a day of 87°F without a cloud in the sky.
So… umm… how the eff does one prep for that?!

What I’m Wearing:
Top: LOFT / Pants: similar / Shoes: Soludos / Bag: Cult Gaia (small dupe here) / Earrings: Sugarfix, c/o
Truth be told, you don’t. One literally never figures out how to dress for spring in Texas.
But, over time, you learn a few tricks. For March and early April, I’ve learned to just check the weather forecast each and every day. Whenever I’m in doubt on how to dress for spring in Texas, I wear a long-sleeved shirt, thin pants or a skirt, and lightweight shoes (like here).
I always have a cardigan in my bag (as I write this post, I have this one draped over my shoulders). Since Texas loves its air conditioning, I make sure to have a cardigan with me from March through October (otherwise, you’ll freeze in restaurants!). I even took that habit with me to Florida recently.
And – btw – I always have a compact umbrella on standby. Because, while elsewhere in the world, April showers bring May flowers, in Texas, March showers bring April bluebonnets.
This outfit is a safe bet for a normal spring day in Texas. This LOFT top is so lightweight and feminine – perfect for layering under a sweater or blazer on chillier days. My pants (similar pair here) are so thin that they’re almost like wearing leggings (yaaaas). And my shoes are my fav purchases from last summer – I can’t wait to wear them all season and in Europe this summer! They’re a comfortable espadrille-style flat, and they pair perfectly with either pants or dresses.
