Thank y’all so much for all of the thoughtful messages and kind wishes about my new house! I spent the majority of last week packing up my life before Thursday’s move… and, since then, I’ve been playing a real-life version of minesweeper with all of the boxes in my house. It’s a bit hectic around here, but it will all be worth it once I’m finally settled!!
Which brings me to this post. Today, I’m featuring something y’all have been requesting for a long time. And I mean a long long time.
My old Dallas apartment tour. Or rather, my über feminine Dallas apartment tour. And to do it right, I’ve teamed up with the folks at Greenleaf. Because nothing says feminine Dallas apartment like a fresh-scented, pink candle in every single room!
Honestly though. For the full effect, I wish I could encode the smells of each room into this blog post. But y’all are just gonna have to trust me when I say my apartment smelled like flowers, deliciousness, and friggin heaven. These candles would make such a great Mother’s Day present to the lucky mamas in your life (or for your own feminine apartment!). One lucky reader (or her mama!) will be receiving the whole set as a gift from Greenleaf!

Y’all. I miss the #PinkChairPalace! Sure, it was a bit cramped because I have way too much stuff (largely in cabinets), but it was home. And my furniture fit said home.
Now, however, my house almost looks like Polly Pocket moved into Barbie’s dream castle. Aka everything I own looks tiny in here!!
At least there’s a silver lining: it’s a great excuse to get all new furniture, right? Don’t worry – it’ll still be girly and quintessentially me… just next time I’ll be posting a feminine Dallas townhouse tour instead of a feminine Dallas apartment tour!
One of the first things I did after I moved was put my Greenleaf candles and reed diffusers in each and every room. Scent is so important to me. The easiest (and fastest!) way for me to make my new house feel like home was to make it smell like home. Or rather, like Greenleaf’s Peony Bloom collection. Basically like flowery deliciousness.
And not like man musk from hauling my Polly Pocket furniture up two flights of stairs (not my favorite scent, tbh).
PS if you want to shop my furniture / “stuff”, check out my living room tour and my bedroom reveal. Those two posts contain links to just about everything you can purchase in my apartment! Except my elephant head, which you can find here. Her name is Eleanor Roosephant.
My Favorite Mother’s Day Gifts:
So my mom is going to hate me for saying this… but I find Mother’s Day gifting to be oddly stressful. Finding the perfect Mother’s Day gifts can be difficult for anybody… but what do you get the mom who has everything? Slash who has a style completely different from your own?
The past few years, I’ve gone two routes: experience or function. And I find both of those to be pretty safe options.
To explain, when I say “experience”, I mean a mother-daughter spa day. Or an evening at the opera. Or a trip to the rodeo. Whatever will be memorable and all about the two of you and the love you have for your mom. Years might go by, and you will both always have that memory of the time you spent together, doing something a bit out of the ordinary.
The other path you can take is to get her something functional.
Greenleaf sent me some sachets to stick in my drawers and make my clothes smell divine. Unfortunately, they didn’t make it into this post as I really didn’t want to have photos of my underwear drawer floating around the internet. Just trust me: they smell awesome and work so well. And would make a great gift for your mom (or part of a gift!). Every time she would open her drawer, she would smell the sachet and think of you.
Other functional gift ideas include getting her a mirrored lipstick case (did that a few years ago) or a ring holder to put on her desk (did that too). If you decide to go functional, get her something with which she will interact on a daily basis. That way, it’s like you’re always popping into her mind to say “haaaaaayyyyy mom!!!!” (exactly what she wants)
And just in case you forgot to get her a present:
In the event you literally just realized that Mother’s Day is next weekend and you’re totally desperate to get her a gift now, don’t fret, friend! Greenleaf and I have you covered. One lucky reader is going to receive a $150 credit to Greenleaf so she can buy any Greenleaf products her little heart desires (including the aforementioned sachets which are currently making my unmentionables smell quite mentionable).
Up to you whether you want to be the real MVP and gift it to your mom as a part of her present, or just pocket the goodies and turn your house into a delicious-smelling oasis. No judgement either way, babes. With these candles and diffusers scattered throughout, you’ll be well on your way to creating your own feminine apartment tour!
